On the sea shore, there was a small
village. There in a small cottage lived a man and a woman who wished to have a child for a long
time. After several years, they were expecting a baby. They were poor and would
survive on earning from the day’s hard work.
One night, they were having dinner of
stale bread and cold beans when the wife craved for some fresh rapunzel. Just
a block down from their house, there was a beautiful big house with a full
garden of fresh vegetables.
The husband went to pick some fresh rapunzel
for his dear wife. As he was picking the delicious rapunzel, he heard a balcony door open and a woman came out.
He immediately explained -"My wife is expecting a child anytime now and she has been craving for some rapunzel"
The woman said - "Please take as much as you would like. Fresh rapunzel is very good for mother and baby. It also helps to grow long and strong hair. My best wishes to you guys”
Relived, the man said –“ You are very generous. Thank you. We do want our baby to have long and strong hair. I will convey your wishes to my wife"
He hurried off to home to his wife.
Wife ate her fill of Rapunzel lettuce
and felt very happy. On the same night, the baby girl arrived. Both the man and woman were extremely happy and baby was in good health.
But soon after, a big storm came and shore started flooding. The woman kept the baby in a basket so that she is protected from water. The man and woman tried their
best to stay together and keep their baby with them. But with the force of
water they all get separated.
On the very next day of the storm, owner of the same
house from where the man had taken fresh rapunzel for his wife had found a
little baby girl. She had a big house and the big house did not get flushed out
with the flood. She raised the baby and gave her name Rapunzel after the
delicious vegetable she knew her mom loved.
Years went by and they kept looking for
her birth parents. Her parent also kept looking for their baby girl, but they found no clue.
The baby girl had grown into a young girl
now and she had become a professional surfer. She was living at the same big house with big garden.
One day while she was surfing, her friend
called her ‘Rapunzel, lets go home. Its almost sunset time.’
At the same time, there was couple standing and as soon as they heard the word ‘rapunzel’ , they started looking for the girl named
Rapunzel.
They saw a beautiful young brave girl
with long golden hair and started pondering that their daughter would be of same age is she was still there. At the same time, Rapunzel saw them looking at her with love filled eyes.
She reached out to them and asked if they were new in the area. They told her their story and they all found out that she was in fact their daughter. They all could not believe that they had found each other. They started crying with joy. Later on, they built a new house in the same area and lived happily
ever after.
